Residents in Tarrant County to receive jury summons postcards with QR code access starting March 24

Fort Worth, Texas – Residents in Tarrant County will begin noticing a clear shift in how jury duty notifications arrive starting tomorrow, March 24, 2026, and how the process is handled. The county is moving away from the traditional multi-page mailers and introducing a new postcard-style jury summons, marking a step toward a more modern and simplified system.
The updated postcard will include a QR code that allows recipients to quickly access Juror Access, the county’s updated online portal. This change is designed to make it easier for individuals to respond to their summons, check their status, and manage their jury service without unnecessary delays or confusion. Instead of relying heavily on paperwork, the system now leans into digital tools that aim to save time and improve communication.
A Shift Toward Faster and Simpler Jury Service
This new format arrives alongside the launch of an upgraded Jury Management Software system. After nearly two decades of dependable use, the previous system is being replaced with a more advanced platform that focuses on efficiency and accessibility. The county’s decision reflects an effort to keep up with current technology while making the process easier for everyday citizens.
With the new system in place, communication will now happen mainly through email. Prospective jurors can also choose to receive text message updates, giving them another way to stay informed. This approach allows people to receive important notifications quickly, rather than waiting for mailed updates. In many cases, jurors will now be able to see real-time updates about their service status, often on the same day or by the next business day.
The goal is to reduce uncertainty and give people clear, timely information about when and how they are expected to serve. This can help jurors better plan their schedules and avoid unnecessary trips or confusion.
Even with these digital upgrades, the county has made it clear that accessibility remains a priority. Not everyone may be comfortable using online tools, and for those individuals, there is still an option to respond in person. Anyone unable to access the online system can simply report at the date and time listed on their summons postcard.
Another key point remains unchanged. While the design and format of the summons are new, the official notice will still be delivered by mail. The postcard will now serve as the first step in the process, replacing the older four-part mailer but keeping the same official purpose.
Tarrant County officials say they are looking forward to offering this improved system and believe it will create a smoother experience for residents. By combining traditional mail with modern digital tools, the county hopes to make jury duty more manageable while still maintaining the importance of civic responsibility.
