Dallas offers emergency training for Spanish speaking residents to build safer and more prepared communities

Dallas, Texas – The City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management & Crisis Response is inviting Spanish-speaking residents to enroll in a free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training course designed to help individuals respond confidently and effectively during emergencies. This specialized training, taught entirely in Spanish, will eliminate language barriers and open the door for greater community participation in emergency preparedness.
Training Designed for Spanish-Speaking Communities
The course aims to build stronger, more resilient neighborhoods by empowering participants with practical skills and emergency response knowledge. Taught exclusively in Spanish, the CERT training makes it easier for non-English speakers to gain the tools they need to protect themselves, their families, and their communities in times of crisis.
The program’s curriculum will include essential emergency response techniques such as:
-
Basic disaster preparedness
-
First aid and fire safety
-
Light search and rescue operations
-

Participants who complete all sessions will receive a certificate of completion, signifying their readiness to assist during disasters and contribute to local response efforts.
