Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department announces Summer Day Camp hiring event for seasonal youth program positions

Fort Worth, Texas – The City of Fort Worth is inviting individuals who enjoy working with young people to explore seasonal employment opportunities as the Park and Recreation Department prepares for another summer of youth programs across the city. Officials announced that a Summer Day Camp Job Fair will soon take place, giving interested applicants the chance to learn more about positions and apply for roles that support the city’s Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation programs.
The hiring event will be held at Diamond Hill Community Center on Saturday, March 14, and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. City leaders say the job fair is aimed at people who enjoy working with children and want to help create safe and fun experiences during the summer months.
Fort Worth’s summer programs operate at multiple locations throughout the city. Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation activities are hosted at 21 community centers and four schools, providing recreational and educational activities for children in many neighborhoods. Officials say these programs rely on energetic staff members who can help guide activities, encourage participation, and create a positive environment for youth.
Applicants who plan to attend the job fair should be aware that the deadline to submit applications is Monday, March 16.
Positions Available for Summer Programs
Several roles are available for individuals interested in joining the summer camp team. One of the main positions open is Camp Leader, which offers an hourly wage ranging from $18 to $21.49. To qualify for this role, applicants must be at least 16 years old by May 1. Camp leaders help supervise activities, guide children through games and learning experiences, and assist with the daily operations of summer programs.
Another opportunity is the Senior Camp Leader position, which offers hourly pay ranging from $19.39 to $22.48. Candidates applying for this role must have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of experience working with youth in recreational, educational, cultural, or fitness programs. Senior camp leaders often take on additional responsibilities in helping manage program activities and supporting younger staff members.
The department is also hiring Literacy Support Specialists. This position pays $35 per hour and allows employees to work up to 20 hours per week. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field and have at least six months of teaching experience in areas such as reading instruction, early learning, or elementary education. A valid Texas driver’s license is also required for this role.
City officials say the job fair provides a great opportunity for students, educators, and community members to become part of a program that supports youth development while offering valuable work experience. By bringing enthusiastic staff into the summer camps, Fort Worth hopes to create engaging activities that help children learn, play, and grow throughout the summer season.
