Woman died after her boyfriend she shared two daughters with, grew suspicious she was cheating on him so he fatally stabbed her in the chest; boyfriend charged

New York – In a devastating case of domestic violence in New York, a 40-year-old mother of two, identified as T. Rowe, was fatally stabbed by her boyfriend and father of her children after he grew suspicious she was being unfaithful. Now, 39-year-old K. Cooper stands charged with her murder, leaving their two young daughters without either parent.

Authorities say Cooper fatally stabbed his girlfriend, Rowe, during a violent altercation in their sixth-floor apartment. The incident happened just after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to police, Rowe was stabbed in the chest and arm during what officials described as a domestic dispute fueled by suspicions of infidelity. Cooper, who shared a 9-year-old and a 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter with Rowe, believed she was cheating on him. A relative said he had grown increasingly paranoid about the relationship. Tensions reportedly escalated after a man dropped Rowe off at home one night, a break from her usual habit of taking the subway. Cooper was said to be upset that she had stopped calling him as frequently. According to reports, Cooper had sacrificed plans of starting a trucking business because Rowe was not supportive of it and the couple planned to eventually get married.

The breaking point reportedly came when Cooper claimed to have placed a recorder under their bed and said he overheard Rowe having phone se- with another man, an accusation Rowe strongly denied. Despite their arguments, the family said Cooper had expressed deep love for Rowe, insisting, “We don’t have any issues,” and was in tears over his growing suspicions. Rowe’s brother, alarmed after not hearing from her, conducted a wellness check and discovered her lifeless body around 8:35 p.m. He immediately called 911. Officers arrived and found Rowe suffering from stab wounds to her chest and right arm. She was rushed to a medical center but unfortunately died from her injuries.

At least one child — believed to be related to the couple — was reportedly home during the attack, although police have not confirmed whether it was one of the daughters. The crime scene painted a grim picture of a domestic situation that spiraled into irreversible violence. Cooper was arrested on Monday and is facing several charges, including second-degree murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child. He had no prior arrests and was reportedly cooperative with law enforcement.

Officials stated that Cooper will remain in custody while awaiting court proceedings. Authorities emphasized the seriousness of the case and acknowledged the broader toll such crimes take — not only on victims, but on surviving children and family members. The couple’s two daughters now face life without either parent. Friends and loved ones described Rowe as a hardworking mother who had been employed on the night shift at a local restaurant. Her sudden death shocked those close to her, particularly given that there were no previous known incidents of violence involving Cooper. As the case moves forward in court, Rowe’s family continues to grieve the loss of a mother, daughter, and friend — a loss that has permanently altered the lives of two innocent children.
