City of Fort Worth invites players to join second annual pickleball tournament this June

Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department is inviting players of all skill levels to join in on the excitement of their second annual pickleball tournament. Pickleball is described as “fun, social and friendly.” The rules are simple, making it easy for beginners to learn, but the game can also “develop into a fast-paced, competitive game” for those looking for a challenge.
This year’s tournament will take place on Friday, June 13, at the Haws Athletics Center, located at 600 Congress St. Teams are encouraged to register early, as space is limited and the competition promises to be lively.
The entry fee is just $10 per team, making it an affordable opportunity for players to compete in a friendly yet spirited environment. The tournament will feature mixed-doubles play and will be divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced divisions. Each team will participate in one round robin of play, giving everyone a fair chance to enjoy multiple matches.
Players who do not currently have a pickleball partner should not worry. Organizers have made it easy by offering a free agent list, allowing individuals to be paired up. Interested participants can email to join the list and find a teammate before the event.
For more information or to register, players can contact Sonya Rodriguez at 817-392-7690. It’s important to note that registration closes May 31, so early sign-up is encouraged to secure a spot in this exciting community event.
