Fugitive accused of 2023 fatal shooting added to most wanted list after skipping court and removing ankle monitor

Grand Saline, Texas – Authorities across Texas are urgently searching for Trevor McEuen, a capital murder suspect who has now been placed on the Texas Department of Public Safety’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List after failing to appear in court earlier this month.

On May 5, 2025, McEuen allegedly cut off his court-ordered ankle monitor and left his residence just hours before his scheduled court appearance. He had been released on bond while facing charges of capital murder, murder, and four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon related to the 2023 fatal shooting of 35-year-old Aaron Martinez.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Office of the Governor’s Public Safety Office is offering up to $10,000 for information that leads to McEuen’s arrest. That amount is in addition to separate $10,000 rewards each being offered by the Kaufman County Crime Stoppers and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, bringing the total reward to $30,000.

“Trevor McEuen is exactly why Texas must fix its broken and deadly bail system,” said Governor Abbott. “A violent criminal like McEuen charged with capital murder should never be released on our streets. That’s why I made bail reform an emergency item that must pass this legislative session. I urge all Texans with information on McEuen to call the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline or submit an anonymous tip online to help law enforcement apprehend this heinous criminal. Working together, we will bring fugitives like Trevor McEuen to justice.”

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information on McEuen’s whereabouts to report it immediately. Tipsters can contact the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or submit tips online via the Texas Department of Public Safety website.

By law, all tips remain anonymous. Callers will be issued a tip number in place of sharing their identity. Authorities stress that McEuen should be considered armed and dangerous, and citizens should not attempt to confront or capture him under any circumstances.

With growing concern for public safety and a renewed call for bail reform, McEuen’s escape has put the spotlight back on policies that allow violent offenders back into communities while awaiting trial.
