Fort Worth to host inclusive community event for special needs families at Forest Park Pool this August
Fort Worth, Texas – Fort Worth’s Forest Park Pool will host a special Adapted Luau on Saturday, August 2, offering families of all backgrounds and abilities a vibrant evening of tropical-themed fun.
A Night of Music, Games, and Community
The Adapted Luau is a collaborative event organized by Fort Worth Aquatics and the Park & Recreation Department’s Dream Club. The evening promises a welcoming environment where families can enjoy swimming, games, music, and sensory activities, all tailored to support individuals with special needs.
From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., attendees will have exclusive access to Forest Park Pool, located at 2850 Park Place Avenue, to splash, dance, and socialize in a supportive and festive atmosphere. Food trucks will be on-site for those wanting to purchase a bite to eat during the event, adding to the relaxed and fun environment.
“This event is all about making Fort Worth a place where everyone feels included,” said Community Center Coordinator Victoria Leach. “We strive to make Fort Worth a place that is inclusive for all, and we’re excited to create additional programming and events that embrace all audiences.”
Open to All Ages and Free of Charge
The Adapted Luau is open to all ages and free to attend, with the city emphasizing the importance of accessibility and community connection. The event underscores Fort Worth’s growing efforts to offer inclusive recreational opportunities for all residents.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, participants are reminded that proper swim attire is required—no T-shirts, basketball shorts, or flotation devices will be allowed in the pool. Attendees planning to purchase food should also bring extra cash or cards for the food trucks.
