High-speed fiber internet project in Arlington underway

Arlington, Texas – Arlington is on the brink of a technological transformation as high-speed fiber internet makes its way to the community, promising enhanced connectivity for residents, businesses, and educational institutions. The first phase of the project has begun, which involves building a state-of-the-art fiber network. This will significantly enhance internet speeds in the area.

Arlington high-speed fiber internet project is divided into three phases

This project has three stages, each designed to minimize disruption while laying the foundation for an infrastructure that will serve the local community in the years to come. People who live nearby may have already seen the first signs of progress: workers are marking utilities on the grass, pavement, and curbs with temporary paint and flags. These markers are very important for making sure the project is done safely and quickly. They help contractors find their way around existing utilities. People in the area are advised to not touch these markers so that the building process goes smoothly.

In order to get ready for the construction, residents will soon be getting tags on their doors that let them know about upcoming events. Even though most of the work will be done on public rights-of-way like sidewalks and streets, contractors may need to get into people’s backyards sometimes, especially in places where utility easements are in place.

The construction phase will see the arrival of heavy machinery and the opening of holes within the public right-of-way. The contractors are required to work during set hours, which are from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with extra time allowed during Daylight Savings Time. Any open excavations that are left unattended will be fenced off to keep everyone safe. The construction process may inadvertently affect private irrigation systems, which are often undetectable through standard utility location services. Contractors are committed to fix any damage quickly, so residents will have as little trouble as possible.

Once construction work is done, the focus will shift to fixing things up. Contractors are responsible for filling in all holes and making the areas look like they did before the work was done, or even better. As part of this, the dirt must be carefully leveled and sod must be replaced to protect the community’s look and functionality.
