6-year-old boy died after his evil mother wrapped him in fabric trying to perform a ritual to get rid of evil spirits from his body as she was following instructions from God; mother charged

Florida – In a deeply disturbing case in Florida, a 6-year-old boy, identified as Ra’myl, was found dead in his bedroom after his 41-year-old mother, identified as R. Paulynice, claimed she was performing a spiritual ritual meant to cast out demons. Paulynice has been charged with second-degree murder, failure to report a death, and altering a dead body, according to the sheriff’s office.

The heartbreaking discovery came after Ra’myl had been missing from school since May 14. Concerned about his unexplained absence, a school resource officer alerted authorities. Deputies from the sheriff’s office conducted a welfare check at the family’s home around 10 a.m. on May 30. What they found was devastating. When deputies arrived at the home, Paulynice was in the driveway and willingly led the officer inside. There, police say she directed them to Ra’myl’s bedroom, where the young boy was found deceased and wrapped tightly in fabric, with only his face showing.

“She claimed she was trying to remove evil spirits from her son,” said Undersheriff J. Bolduc. “She believed she was following instructions from God.” Authorities believe the child died on or around May 18, which was also the last time the mother said she had spoken to him. She never contacted authorities about his death and left his body undisturbed for nearly two weeks.

Investigators noted Paulynice exhibited disturbing emotional swings during the investigation, alternating between crying and laughing in front of deputies. Sheriff R. Del Toro described her demeanor as erratic, adding that deputies had been to the home before, including one visit just the day before the child’s suspected death—on May 17—due to a “medical issue” involving Paulynice. There had also been previous reports of domestic disputes between Paulynice and her sister, but never involving the child.

During interviews with police, Paulynice admitted that she was trying to “exercise demons out of the child’s body”, believing she was under divine guidance. “When the child had stopped moving and basically passed away, at that point she felt the child had been released of those demons and was waiting for him to come back,” Sheriff Del Toro explained. The cause of death is still pending results from an autopsy, which was scheduled the weekend following the discovery of the child’s body. Paulynice appeared in court on Saturday, where a judge denied her bond. She remains incarcerated at the county jail as investigators continue gathering evidence.

The tragedy has left the local community stunned and heartbroken. Neighbors expressed shock and sorrow, saying, “I’m devastated, I’m sick to my stomach.” Sheriff Del Toro echoed those sentiments, calling Ra’myl a “child who lit up the room” and emphasizing the psychological toll such cases take on responding officers. “Our deputies see things that nobody should have to see,” Del Toro said. “This is one of the struggles we deal with in law enforcement… where someone is just being purely evil.”

The sheriff’s office also acknowledged the emotional impact on their team: “Being a parent, being out on a scene like that, seeing a six-year-old child that was killed for no other reason than just someone being purely evil, it’s hard. It’s hard to just go home and act like nothing’s happened.” Outside the Paulynice residence, community members placed balloons and tributes in memory of Ra’myl, honoring a life lost far too soon. A formal resolution to the case is still pending as the legal process unfolds, but authorities have vowed to pursue justice for Ra’myl and hold his mother fully accountable for his tragic death.
