Fort Worth begins construction on new Patrol Division Facility to enhance operations

Fort Worth, Texas – City leaders, law enforcement officials, and community members will gather today at 9 a.m. to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Fort Worth Police Department’s (FWPD) new Northwest Patrol Division Facility. The new site, located at 3900 Angle Avenue, marks a major step forward in improving service delivery and public safety in the area.

The facility will consolidate two existing police operations—one housed in a City-owned building and another in a leased location—into one state-of-the-art, 31,710-square-foot structure. This new setup is expected to enhance communication and efficiency among law enforcement personnel serving the Northwest Division.

Personnel at the facility will include Northwest Division Patrol Officers, Neighborhood Police Officers, Detectives, Code Blue volunteers, the Bike Unit, and Division Administration staff.

City Leaders Celebrate a Long-Awaited Milestone

Several key city officials are scheduled to speak at the groundbreaking event. Among them are Mayor Mattie Parker, Councilmembers Carlos Flores and Macy Hill, City Manager Jay Chapa, Assistant City Manager William Johnson, Chief of Police Neil Noakes, Assistant Chief of Police Robert Alldredge, and Northwest Division Commander Randy Molina. Their attendance reflects the significance of the project to both the city and the communities served by the Northwest Division.

Designed to Serve and Protect

According to city officials, the new facility will not only function as the division’s headquarters but will also create a more unified and accessible space for officers and residents alike. It will serve as a hub for officers and staff, provide meeting space for community groups, and act as a command center for Citizens on Patrol. This multipurpose approach supports stronger relationships between the police and the communities they protect.

“Construction will begin in April with a projected completion date in spring 2026,” the City confirmed. The total cost for the project is $25.6 million, funded through the 2022 Bond Program and the Crime Control and Prevention District. The facility will be designed by GFF Inc. and built by FPI Builders LLC, which was awarded the design-build contract on September 12, 2023.

The new patrol station represents not just bricks and mortar but a long-term investment in safety, community trust, and operational effectiveness.
