Missing 15-year-old girl died after the 32-year-old man she was dating put a pillow over her her face following an argument, suffocating her, then threw her like a “sack of trash;” man sentenced

Illinois – In a grim and disturbing case out of Illinois, a 32-year-old man, identified as T. Doll, with a documented history of abuse, has been sentenced to over 50 years in prison for the murder of a 15-year-old girl, identified as G. Cleveland, whom he was involved with in what he admitted was a “highly inappropriate relationship.” Doll pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for the killing of Cleveland, whom he suffocated in May 2023 before discarding her body in a dumpster.
At the time of the murder, Doll was already a registered se- offender, having previously served time for assaulting a minor. Last week, a judge sentenced him to 52 years in prison, granting credit for time served. While Doll’s defense team requested a 30-year term, citing his mental health issues and difficult upbringing, prosecutors pushed for the maximum sentence of 60 years, citing his ongoing pattern of predatory behavior.
Cleveland was reported missing by her family on May 6, 2023, two days after they last saw her. Her body was recovered on May 7, near Doll’s home. According to court documents, the two had an argument on May 4 inside Doll’s apartment. At some point, he used a pillow to suffocate her. After her death, he undressed her body, placed it into a laundry basket, and carried it out to a nearby dumpster as if she were a sack of trash. The coroner’s office confirmed that asphyxiation was the cause of death and ruled it a homicide. Investigators later used cellphone data to place Cleveland at Doll’s address on the night she disappeared. Combined with other evidence collected through a series of search warrants, police were able to arrest Doll on the same day her body was found. He was officially charged with murder the following day.
In court, Doll did not attempt to minimize his role in the crime. He told the judge, “I deserve every year I am given.” But those words offered little solace to Cleveland’s grieving loved ones, who must now carry the weight of losing a daughter and sister in such a violent, dehumanizing manner. During sentencing, the judge gave a blistering condemnation of Doll’s actions. “You treated her no better than you would an ordinary sack of trash,” he told the defendant. “But she was just not a sack of trash for you to throw away. She was a young woman with dreams and aspirations. You stole her innocence. And ultimately, you stole her life.”
Doll’s criminal record speaks for itself. In 2020, he was convicted of aggravated se-ual abuse involving a 14-year-old girl. He served two and a half years in prison, followed by 30 months of probation, and was required to register as a se- offender. One of the terms of his release was to avoid contact with minors, a condition he clearly violated by maintaining a relationship with Cleveland. Prosecutors were blunt in their assessment of Doll’s actions and history. “This defendant preys on young teenage girls, abusing them. And no law or court orders have ever stopped him,” they said.
Doll will now spend the next half-century behind bars. Yet for Cleveland’s family, the pain remains. She was a vibrant young girl with her whole life ahead of her—taken by a man who saw her as disposable. Justice, in this case, may have caught up with Doll. But it will never return the life he so callously extinguished.
