Fort Worth Municipal Court satellite office at Vivian J. Lincoln Library to close in late September

Fort Worth, Texas – Residents in Fort Worth will soon see a change in how they access municipal court services. “The Fort Worth Municipal Court satellite office at Vivian J. Lincoln Library will close at the end of September. The final day of office hours will be Friday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.”
Low Traffic Leads to Closure
The decision to close the satellite office comes after officials determined that the location had not attracted the level of use that was expected. “We had expected consistent requests for service at this location after the successful use of our Southwest Municipal Court satellite,” explained court director William Rumuly. “Unfortunately, despite several efforts to increase use, the foot traffic has remained lower than anticipated. After careful consideration, we made the difficult decision to discontinue this location so the space can be made available for other City use.”
While the closure will bring an end to in-person services at Vivian J. Lincoln Library, Fort Worth residents will still have a variety of options to take care of their Municipal Court obligations.
Alternatives for Residents
Those who need to make payments or resolve court-related matters can do so through multiple channels. Residents may use Vanilla Pay cash payments at many participating retailers across the city, a convenient option for those who prefer in-person financial transactions. In addition, online payments remain available for quick and direct access.
For those who prefer face-to-face service, the A.D. Marshall Courts Building downtown has expanded its walk-in court hours. Residents can now visit Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and again from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Fort Worth city officials encourage residents to take advantage of these options and note that additional information about court services and payment methods is available online or by calling 817-392-6700.
