15-year-old girl hospitalized after her 26-year-old sister armed herself with a knife when confronted about going through her phone and stabbed her nearly a dozen times; sister arrested

Florida – In a harrowing domestic incident in Florida, a 26‑year‑old woman, identified as L. Le, has been taken into custody after stabbing her 15‑year‑old sister nearly a dozen times following an argument over privacy. The older sister now faces a felony attempted murder charge, along with related counts stemming from a violent attack that has left the younger sibling hospitalized, fighting for her life.

According to the arrest affidavit, Le was taken into custody after sheriff’s deputies found her sister stabbed multiple times inside their home. The victim had confronted Le after seeing her go through her cell phone while she was asleep. When asked to hand back the device, Le reportedly armed herself with a black knife and attacked. The victim sustained at least ten stab wounds, and deputies say she was initially assaulted in the back before the attack spread across her body. Le is charged with one count of felony attempted murder.

The violent confrontation unfolded on Sunday afternoon, around 3:30 p.m. Investigators say the 15‑year‑old had been sleeping in the living room when she awoke and discovered her older sister rummaging through her phone. The young teen asked why, grabbed the phone from Le’s hand—and the situation escalated. According to the arrest report, the 15-year-old girl ran toward the front door in an attempt to escape. Le followed and stabbed her in the back four times. When the victim collapsed, Le allegedly continued stabbing her about six more times throughout her body. The victim reportedly begged her sister to spare her life before the attack finally ceased, leaving her severely wounded on the floor of their home.

When deputies arrived, they found the teen suffering from multiple stab wounds. The young girl was immediately airlifted to a hospital and treated for life‑threatening injuries. According to reports, the 15-year-old girl was stabilized and is expected to survive. During her arrest, Le reportedly refused to speak to detectives. At her initial court appearance, she was denied bond and ordered held until further proceedings.

As of now, Le remains in the county jail without bond as the case moves forward. Her official arraignment has been scheduled for November 17. Though the motive behind the attack has not been publicly clarified beyond the phone‑privacy dispute, the act has been characterized by police and media as a rare instance of sibling violence that nearly resulted in tragedy. Investigators say the victim’s escape attempt, the erratic path of the assault, and the nature of the wounds all point to a sustained and targeted attack rather than a momentary lapse of anger. The fact that the older sister armed herself and pursued the younger sibling underscores the severity of the incident.

While the 15-year-old girl recovers, the incident has raised questions about family relationships, trust, and aggression among siblings. Though most domestic‑violence cases involve couples, this case centers on sisters—a dynamic that has prompted mental‑health professionals in the area to weigh in on sibling rivalry turned violent. As the case progresses through the courts, it stands as a stark reminder: Respecting boundaries, protecting privacy, and being alert to escalating conflict—especially within families—can literally be a matter of life or death.
