Fort Worth Fire Department seeks EMT trainees and paramedics as hiring window opens

Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth Fire Department (FWFD) has officially opened its application process for EMT trainees and paramedics, offering an opportunity for those passionate about emergency response and public service. With the deadline to apply set for November 30, interested individuals are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.
Meeting the Requirements
Applicants must meet a variety of requirements to be considered for the roles. Candidates are expected to complete several phases in the selection process, including a written test, an aerobic capacity run, a thorough background check, a polygraph examination, a formal interview, and a comprehensive medical and physical examination.
Education requirements include a high school diploma, GED certificate, or at least 12 semester hours of college credit. Additionally, residency within 30 minutes of the designated report-in station is mandatory and must be fulfilled within six months of employment.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35, and must not have reached their 36th birthday by the date of the entry-level examination. A valid Class C driver’s license is required at the time of application. While in training, recruits will also be expected to obtain a Class B license.
