H-E-B Food Store in San Antonio sells $3 million winning ticket for Mega Millions drawing

San Antonio, Texas – A lucky San Antonio resident has claimed a $3 million Mega Millions prize from the drawing held on November 12. The winning ticket, purchased at H-E-B Food Store #026, located at 4100 S. New Braunfels Ave., matched all five white ball numbers drawn—18, 31, 33, 64, 68—but missed the Mega Ball number, which was 17.

The claimant, who elected to remain anonymous, won the second-tier prize, which typically amounts to $1 million. However, by opting for the Megaplier feature, an additional $1 per play, the prize was tripled to a remarkable $3 million.

How Mega Millions Works

Mega Millions is a popular lottery game where players select five numbers from a field of 70 and one Mega Ball number from a field of 25. To win the jackpot, players must match all six numbers, including the Mega Ball. While hitting the jackpot is the ultimate goal, there are various other ways to win, including the second-tier prize won by the San Antonio resident.

The starting jackpot for Mega Millions is $20 million, and the second-tier prize for matching five white ball numbers (without the Mega Ball) is $1 million. The optional Megaplier feature allows players to multiply non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four, or even five times, offering the chance to win up to $5 million in some categories.

Excitement Builds for Upcoming Drawings

Mega Millions drawings are held twice weekly, every Tuesday and Friday at 10:12 p.m. CT. The game continues to excite players with its massive jackpots and additional opportunities to win life-changing prizes.
