Austin, Texas – Texas continues to stand as a national leader in economic growth, reaching historic milestones in job creation, workforce participation, and business expansion. Governor Greg Abbott announced that the state has once again set new records for total jobs, the number of Texans employed, and the size of the labor force, according to January 2025 employment data from the Texas Workforce Commission.

Texas Leads the Nation in Economic Growth

Governor Abbott credited the hardworking people of Texas for driving the state’s economic success and reaffirmed Texas’ position as a hub for business expansion.

“Hardworking Texans drive America’s most dynamic economy,” said Governor Abbott. “And with more Texans working than ever before in the history of our great state, we continue to dominate the nation for business expansion. Texas truly is the land of economic freedom, where entrepreneurs and business owners can cast a vision and know they can achieve that vision. With the Best Business Climate and the strongest workforce in America, Texas attracts innovative industry leaders seeking the freedom to grow and the opportunity for their employees to thrive. By cutting red tape and making strategic investments in infrastructure, education, and workforce development, we will build a stronger, more prosperous Texas than ever before.”

A Business-Friendly Climate Fuels Job Growth

The state’s pro-growth policies have helped create an environment where industries ranging from technology and energy to healthcare and manufacturing can thrive.

The state’s commitment to economic freedom has also played a key role in maintaining steady job growth, drawing businesses that want to expand in an environment with fewer regulatory hurdles and greater opportunities for success.

Texas’ Future Looks Bright

With the state’s economy continuing to grow at a rapid pace, Texas remains well-positioned to sustain its dominance in job creation and economic expansion.
