DPD Gang Unit and SWAT arrest suspect accused of luring victims through social media and robbing four people at gunpoint

Dallas, Texas – A 19-year-old documented gang member has been arrested following a violent armed robbery that targeted multiple victims and triggered a coordinated law enforcement response.
The Dallas Police Department’s Gang Unit arrested Marsavion McCollister after he allegedly robbed four individuals at gunpoint on January 21, 2026, in the 6000 block of Abrams Road. Detectives believe McCollister arranged to meet the victims at an apartment complex under the pretense of taking photographs with him. McCollister is described as a local social media personality and is known to be the founder of the “Channel4” group and a member of the “Best For Less” street gangs in Dallas.
Investigators say the victims agreed to meet him for photos, but the encounter quickly turned into a frightening ordeal.
Armed robbery investigation and arrest
During the meeting, police say McCollister suddenly pulled out a firearm and took the victims’ belongings. The Gang Unit responded and immediately began working to identify, locate, and apprehend the suspect.
Nearly a month later, on February 19, 2026, detectives tracked McCollister to the 8500 block of E R L Thornton Freeway. Due to the nature of the allegations and potential danger, officers requested assistance from the Dallas SWAT team to execute a callout and safely take him into custody.
During the arrest operation, officers recovered two firearms inside the location where McCollister was found. One of the weapons had no serial number. Authorities also discovered approximately .9 grams of cocaine, two cell phones, and a digital scale.
McCollister was taken into custody and faces four counts of Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony under Texas law.
Police emphasized that the arrest reflects a focused effort to combat gang-related violence and protect the community.
“The arrest of this gang member for this violent offense is a great example of the investigation and follow through by our Gang Unit,” said Chief Daniel Comeaux. “Our Gang Unit detectives and enforcement officers work together to investigate offenses with a criminal gang nexus. This kind of behavior is not tolerated in Dallas, and we will continue to proactively target criminal gangs to keep everybody safe.”
Authorities noted that the investigation remains documented under case number 010378-2026.
The case highlights growing concerns about criminals using social media presence and influence to lure victims into vulnerable situations. Police continue to urge residents to exercise caution when meeting individuals they do not know personally and to report suspicious activity.
Through coordinated enforcement efforts and ongoing gang suppression strategies, Dallas police say they remain committed to reducing violent crime and ensuring safer neighborhoods for residents across the city.
