Modern Aviation launches major expansion project at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport to meet growing demand

Fort Worth, Texas – Fort Worth’s aviation sector is preparing for another major boost as Modern Aviation moves forward with a significant expansion project at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport, a development city leaders believe will strengthen the region’s position as a growing aviation hub.

The company is scheduled to break ground on the new project on June 3. The expansion comes as demand for business aviation services continues to increase in North Texas and across the country.

According to project details, the development will add a large state-of-the-art facility designed to serve both locally based aircraft and transient business jets traveling through the region.

Major Airport Expansion Planned

The project will include a 78,400-square-foot hangar capable of accommodating some of the largest business aircraft currently in operation.

In addition to the hangar, plans call for 186,500 square feet of new ramp space and 8,750 square feet of office space.

Officials said the facility is being designed with modern aviation needs in mind. The hangar will feature 28-foot doors, allowing it to support today’s larger business jets that require significant clearance and storage space.

The development is also expected to emphasize efficiency, reliability, safety, and operational performance. Airport officials believe the project will help ensure Meacham International Airport remains competitive as aviation activity continues to grow.

Economic Benefits Expected

City leaders say the investment will bring benefits beyond airport operations.

Construction of the facility is expected to create jobs while generating business opportunities for contractors, suppliers, and service providers involved in the project.

Once completed, the new facility is also expected to support long-term employment opportunities tied to aviation services and airport operations.

Officials believe the expansion will help attract additional aircraft operators and businesses to Fort Worth, while increasing economic activity throughout the surrounding area.

The project is also expected to expand aviation infrastructure, improve operational efficiency at the airport, and contribute additional tax revenue that can benefit the broader community.

The investment represents another step in Fort Worth’s efforts to strengthen its reputation as a center for aviation and aerospace development.

Modern Aviation Continues Growing Network

Modern Aviation operates a network of 19 fixed-base operator locations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

Fixed-base operators, often referred to as FBOs, provide a variety of services for private and business aviation customers. These services commonly include aircraft fueling, hangar rentals, aircraft parking, passenger accommodations, and other support functions.

The company has built a reputation within the aviation industry for emphasizing customer service, safety, and operational standards. All of its facilities participate in the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling program, known as IS-BAH, which promotes standardized safety practices and management systems throughout aviation operations.

As construction gets underway, local officials view the project as a sign of continued confidence in Fort Worth’s aviation market.

The new facility is expected to position Fort Worth Meacham International Airport for continued growth in business aviation while creating additional opportunities for future expansion. City leaders believe the investment will help reinforce North Texas’ standing as one of the nation’s leading destinations for aviation services and aerospace-related business for years to come.
