Fort Worth player wins over three million dollars in Mega Millions drawing

Fort Worth, Texas – A Fort Worth resident has become one of Texas’ latest lottery winners after claiming a Mega Millions prize worth $3,000,006 from the November 8, 2024 drawing. The ticket was purchased at El Rio Grande Latin Market #6, located at 3037 South Freeway in Fort Worth. The lucky individual chose to remain anonymous.

Winning Numbers and a Boost from the Megaplier

The winning ticket was a Quick Pick and included the Megaplier option. It matched all five white ball numbers — 25, 28, 42, 64, and 69 — but missed the Mega Ball number, which was 19. Because the Megaplier number drawn that night was 3, the standard second-tier prize of $1 million was tripled to a massive $3 million. In addition, the winner earned an extra $6 from the same ticket, making the total win $3,000,006.

How Mega Millions Works

To play Mega Millions, participants choose five numbers from a pool of 70 and one Mega Ball number from a pool of 25. To win the jackpot, all six numbers must match. However, even without the Mega Ball match, players who match the five white balls still take home a significant second-tier prize.

By spending an extra $1 for the Megaplier, players increase their chances of multiplying non-jackpot winnings. Depending on the Megaplier drawn, the prize can multiply by two, three, four, or five, with a top possible non-jackpot prize of $5 million.

Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10:12 p.m. CT, giving players two chances each week to try their luck.
