City of Dallas hosts symposium to help residents better understand emergency services and response
Dallas, Texas – Dallas officials are opening the door to deeper public understanding of how emergency response systems work, as the City of Dallas Office of Community Police Oversight prepares to host a major public event focused on transparency, education, and direct engagement with residents.
The upcoming Public Safety Response Symposium: Understanding Public Safety Response is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, and aims to give residents a clearer picture of how public safety operations function across the city. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with doors opening earlier at 9:30 a.m. to welcome attendees with light breakfast and refreshments. It will take place at the State Fair of Texas, inside the Briscoe Carpenter Livestock Center located at 1403 Washington Street in Dallas.
City leaders are encouraging widespread participation, emphasizing that the symposium is open to all Dallas residents who want to learn more and share their perspectives.
