Water damage forces closure of Dallas Municipal Court Building with cases and jury duty rescheduled

Dallas, Texas – The Dallas Municipal Court Building at 2014 Main Street will remain closed today, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, after the facility sustained significant water damage.

City officials announced the closure early Wednesday morning, citing “substantial water damage to the building” as the reason behind the unexpected shutdown.

Rescheduling Hearings and Jury Service

Residents with court hearings scheduled for today do not need to appear. “Anyone scheduled for a case today will be notified, by mail of a new hearing date,” according to city officials. Jurors who were summoned will also receive notice and be rescheduled for a future date.

Officials have not yet provided a timeline for when the courthouse will reopen.
