Lottery player from Frisco turns Powerball ticket into a two million dollar windfall with Power Play

Frisco, Texas – A lucky resident of Frisco has claimed an impressive $2 million Powerball prize from the July 9 drawing, according to lottery officials. The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at Walmart Supercenter #5866, located at 8555 Preston Road in Frisco.

The winning ticket matched all five white ball numbers drawn — 5, 9, 25, 28, and 69 — but missed the red Powerball number, which was 5. While the ticket didn’t secure the Grand Prize jackpot, the matching five white balls earned the player the second-tier prize of $1 million. Thanks to the addition of Power Play, a $1 optional feature, the prize doubled to an incredible $2 million.

Powerball Grand Prizes begin at $20 million and continue to grow with each drawing until someone wins. To hit the jackpot, players must match five numbers drawn from a pool of 69 and add the single red Powerball from a pool of 26. Even if players don’t win the Grand Prize, they can still secure significant winnings. With Power Play, non-jackpot prizes can be multiplied by two, three, four, five, or even ten times, depending on the Power Play number drawn. Notably, the Match Five (5+0) prize is fixed at $2 million with Power Play, no matter what multiplier is drawn.

Powerball drawings take place three times a week — Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday — at 10:12 p.m. Central Time, offering players across the country the thrill of potentially life-changing wins.

While the Frisco winner has chosen to keep their identity private, their story is a reminder of the excitement and surprises that come with the Powerball game — and how just one ticket can turn an ordinary day into a multimillion-dollar celebration.
