Organizations invited to apply for major funding to support struggling households in Tarrant County

Fort Worth, Texas – Tarrant County is calling on local nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and community groups to submit proposals for its newly released Community Outreach Fund Request for Proposals (RFP). The goal is to partner with qualified organizations that can deliver vital rental and utility assistance to eligible residents across the county.

The County expects to allocate up to $2.3 million in local funds for this initiative over a one-year term, with the possibility of up to two additional one-year extensions based on performance and need. Organizations are invited to propose services for rental assistance, utility assistance, or both. Interested applicants must submit one jump drive containing all proposal files to the following address:

Tarrant County Budget & Risk Management
Attn: Ms. Rand Otten
100 E. Weatherford St., Ste. 401, Fort Worth, TX 76196
Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The proposal deadline is Friday, September 12, 2025, at 3 p.m. CDT. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstance. The County will review and score all proposals by September 26, with final contract consideration scheduled for October 14, 2025, by the Commissioners Court.

This opportunity offers both funding and a chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting housing stability and utility access for families in need throughout Tarrant County.
