Two Texas residents claim $1 million prizes following September 6 Powerball drawing

Midlothian, Texas – Texas celebrated not just one but two new millionaires this month after separate Powerball tickets purchased in different cities each matched the five white ball numbers during the September 6 drawing. “A Cedar Park resident claimed a Powerball prize worth $1 million for the drawing on Sept. 6,” officials confirmed. Just hours later, it was revealed that “A Midlothian resident claimed a Powerball prize worth $1 million for the drawing on Sept. 6.”
Winning Tickets in Austin and Midlothian
The Cedar Park ticket was sold at 7-Eleven Convenience Store #36589C, located at 10207 Lake Creek Parkway in Austin. The Midlothian ticket came from Murphy USA 7434 at 100 Walton Way in Midlothian. Both winners decided to remain anonymous, a choice allowed under Texas law.
Each winning Quick Pick ticket matched the white ball numbers 11, 23, 44, 61, and 62. However, neither matched the red Powerball number 17, which would have been required to win the grand prize. Matching the five white balls secured them each a second-tier prize of $1 million.
Powerball Jackpot and Prize Details
Powerball remains one of the largest and most recognized lottery games in the United States. Grand prizes start at $20 million and continue to roll until someone wins. To claim the jackpot, players must match five numbers drawn from a field of 69 along with the red Powerball number drawn from a field of 26.
An optional feature, Power Play, allows players to multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times for an additional $1 per play. The only exception is the Match Five prize, which doubles to $2 million with Power Play.
Drawings are held three times a week—on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:12 p.m. Central Time—keeping excitement high for players hoping to join the growing list of winners.
For Cedar Park and Midlothian, the September 6 drawing turned into a life-changing moment, as two Texas residents each walked away $1 million richer, proving once again that fortune can strike in more than one place at the same time.
