Del Rio and Azle lottery players become millionaires after claiming top prizes from separate scratch ticket games
Del Rio, Texas – Two Texas residents are celebrating life-changing lottery wins after each claimed a $1 million top prize from separate Texas Lottery scratch ticket games.
According to lottery officials, one winning ticket was purchased by a resident of Del Rio, while the other belonged to a resident of Azle. Both winners chose to remain anonymous after claiming their prizes.
The first winner struck it big playing the Texas Lottery scratch ticket game Queen of Spades. The $1 million winning ticket was purchased at Easy Mart and Gas, located at 101 Charles Drive in Del Rio.
Lottery officials said this marked the first of four available top prizes worth $1 million to be claimed in the Queen of Spades game. The scratch ticket offers more than $91.6 million in total prizes. The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are one in 3.88, including break-even prizes.
The retailer that sold the winning ticket may also benefit from the win. Under the Texas Lottery Retailer Bonus Program, Easy Mart and Gas could be eligible to receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket.
Second player wins with Power 20s ticket
A separate $1 million prize was recently claimed by an Azle resident playing the scratch ticket game Power 20s.
The winning ticket was purchased at Murphy Express 8779, located at 6781 Lake Worth Boulevard in Lake Worth. Like the Del Rio winner, the claimant elected to remain anonymous.
Lottery officials reported that this was the second of four top prizes worth $1 million claimed in the Power 20s game.
Power 20s features more than $91.7 million in total prizes. Players have overall odds of one in 3.61 of winning any prize, including break-even prizes.
Murphy Express 8779 may also qualify for a $10,000 retailer bonus through the Texas Lottery Retailer Bonus Program for selling the winning ticket.
The two recent claims add to a growing list of significant lottery wins across Texas and demonstrate how players from different parts of the state continue to find success with scratch ticket games.
While both winners have chosen to keep their identities private, their million-dollar prizes represent major milestones in the respective games. With additional top prizes still available in both Queen of Spades and Power 20s, lottery officials say players still have opportunities to compete for some of the biggest prizes remaining in the games.
