New retail center and grocery store planned for rapidly growing Sendera Ranch area in Fort Worth
Fort Worth, Texas – Plans for a retail center including a grocery store are under way near the Sendera Ranch subdivision in far north Fort Worth in what appears to be a fresh development. This project aims to cater to the needs of the rapidly expanding residential area being developed by Lennar Corp.
Michael Clark, President of Winkelmann & Associates Inc., has asked the Fort Worth Zoning Commission for permission to rezone. The plan calls for turning a 20-acre area from medium-density residential to general commercial usage. Currently empty, this site—which sits at the northeast corner of Sendera Ranch Boulevard and Rancho Canyon Way—may soon be a hive for retail and gasoline needs.

It was revealed at the July 10 zoning commission meeting that the development would cover 122,912 square feet with an anchor supermarket store. Additionally discussed was the inclusion of a gas station, therefore improving the intended shopping center’s value.
The ground belongs to LNR AIV LLC, a Lennar subsidiary. Though Lennar itself has chosen not to comment on the events, Annie Hepner, an entitlements manager there, was named as the contact on the application. Michael Clark said he and a client are closely working with Lennar on this project, which he thinks will satisfy a vital neighborhood needs.
“My client has this under contract for what we believe to be a much needed grocery-anchored shopping center here at the northeast corner of the two major intersections,” Clark said as reported by the Dallas Business Journal.

The client of Clark is still unknown, hence more remarks from him were not available. But the excitement for the project captures the desires of the community and the direction of development in the neighborhood.
Part of a broader neighborhood development plan covering around 6,000 single-family lots across more than 3,000 acres, Sendera Ranch is a sprawling residential area where Lennar is actively selling homes valued between $322, 999 and $501, 999. Its close proximity to the growing towns of Haslet and Alliance, which have seen notable population rise, emphasizes the strategic significance of this new shopping center.

The rezoning request will next move to the Fort Worth City Council, with a decision expected in their meeting on August 13. If approved, this project aims to improve the local infrastructure, bringing handy shopping options closer to home for thousands of residents in one of Fort Worth’s fastest-growing areas.
