Dallas Works program to offer paid summer internships for over 100 young Dallas residents

Dallas, Texas – Dallas Mayor Eric L. Johnson has partnered with the All Stars Project to start the Dallas Works Summer Employment Program in a major step to increase young employment and generate transforming summer possibilities. Promising to help hundreds of young Dallas citizens with priceless job experience and career education, this project seeks to become a national model for youth workforce development.
“Dallas is a city of opportunity for everyone, regardless of socioeconomic background. Through Dallas Works, we unlock the full potential of our city’s youth and set them on a path to success,” said Mayor Johnson. “This year, I’m excited to partner with the All Stars Project, whose commitment to excellence makes them perfect for this venture. Through this partnership, we will create a best-in-class internship program that uplifts our youth while benefiting our local economy.”
Dallas Works, which Mayor Johnson started in 2020, has been front and first in providing young people career-centric internships and access to significant summer recruitment activities. Building on this basis, the 2025 program—in partnership with the All Stars Project—will specifically concentrate on matching over 100 young people from underprivileged communities into paid internships throughout different local companies and charitable groups.
Renowned for its creative approach to young development, the All Stars Project offers to the alliance its experience with performance-based programming.
“The All Stars Project is proud to collaborate with Mayor Johnson on this visionary initiative,” said All Stars Project CEO Chris Street. “It is an honor to serve Dallas by leading this program and leveraging the existing incredible workforce resources of some of the city’s leading nonprofits and educational institutions. Our decades of grassroots experience and research-backed approach to youth development make us uniquely equipped to help Dallas Works succeed. Together, we can create a model for the nation in preparing young people for the workforce and beyond.”
The program benefits Dallas businesses and companies to invest in the next generation of workers by providing internship and mentoring opportunities, so benefiting the local economy in addition and the young people. The success of the program depends on this community participation since it gives participants a real-world learning environment and businesses have access to a motivated and qualified pool of possible workers.
Apart from local influence, Dallas Works’ alliance with the All Stars Project will help Dallas to establish itself as a national leader in efficient summer intern programs for young people. Their approach of public-private cooperation is expected to set standards for how cities may efficiently include young people into the workforce while supporting their professional and educational development.
