New DART office near Knoll Trail Station to enhance management of Silver Line services
Dallas, Texas – After recently signing a ten-year lease for the Knoll Trail Crossing complex, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has set a new operation base in Far North Dallas. This move is part of an ongoing effort to improve service efficiency with the forthcoming $2 billion Silver Line launch, which promises to extend DART’s reach over the northern suburbs.
Located at 15400 Knoll Trail Dr., the rented area amounts to 4,146 square feet in a building covering 96,509 square feet. This site is ideally close to the upcoming Knoll Trail Station, which will act as a vital hub on the Silver Line linking several areas from Plano to DFW Airport.

With its much-needed link across Dallas’s northern suburbs, the 26-mile east-west commuter train The Silver Line is poised to revolutionize public transportation in the area. Testing for the new line began this summer between Plano and Richardson; more tests scheduled from DFW Airport to the Knoll Trail Station beginning this fall.
Caitlin Holland, DART’s Vice President of Real Estate and Economic Development, emphasized the strategic importance of the new office space.
“As DART continues to expand and refine its transit services, we want to ensure that we’re available to monitor that progress and immediately address issues as they arise,” Holland said in the statement to Dallas Business Journal. The proximity to the future rail station allows DART to manage operations more effectively, addressing service needs, rider concerns, and safety issues swiftly.
JLL representatives handled lease negotiations on behalf of the Dallas-based Prescott Group, the building’s landlord. The lease emphasizes DART’s dedication to helping the Silver Line project and its potential impact on regional connections, even if the financial specifics of the agreement are yet unknown.
Built in 2014 and rebuilt in 2022, the Knoll Trail Crossing complex features contemporary conveniences including tenant lounge, an upgraded lobby, move-in ready spec suites, and a conference center. To meet the varied demands of its tenants—which include Cawley Partners, Spectrum Search Group, and VDC Specialists—it also has covered parking, on-site management, and green areas.
The new office will be very important in enabling seamless transitions and operational efficiency as DART gets ready for the planned operation start in late 2025 or early 2026. Once the Silver Line starts running, the agency expects a change in the usage of the space, therefore including DART’s services into the fabric of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area even further.
