Voter registration deadline approaches for Tarrant County residents ahead of May election

Fort Worth, Texas – With a key election date on the horizon, Tarrant County residents are being reminded to check their voter registration status or get registered before the fast-approaching deadline. Thursday, April 3, is the final day to register to vote in time for the upcoming May 3 Election Day.
Important Voting Dates and Information
Along with voter registration, it’s also time for eligible residents to make sure their current information is accurate. That includes confirming names, addresses, and other personal details to avoid any delays when casting a ballot.
Early voting will begin on April 22 and continue through April 29, giving voters a full week to cast their votes before the official Election Day. April 22 is also the deadline to submit an application to vote by mail. These key dates are crucial for voters planning to participate in this year’s local elections.
“This is also a good time to make sure your registration is up to date and gather information about the elections taking place in Tarrant County,” officials advise.
Voters can register by completing a voter registration application and returning it to their county election office at least 30 days before the election. In this case, that means no later than April 3.
To make the process easier, resources are available at VoteTexas.gov, including detailed guides on how to register, how to update an existing registration, and where to vote. The site also provides information about vote-by-mail procedures and access to local election maps, polling places, and sample ballots.
Tarrant County voters can also find specific election and candidate information through their local election websites.
For statewide questions, voters can call 1-800-252-VOTE or visit VoteTexas.gov.
