National Weather Service and Office of Emergency Management & Crisis Response to host severe weather education class in Cedar Hill

Cedar Hill, Texas – Residents of Southern Dallas County will have the opportunity to take part in a free SKYWARN Severe Weather Education class on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Alan E. Sims Recreation Center, located at 301 E. Parkerville Rd., Cedar Hill, TX 75104.
This educational session is designed to teach attendees how to recognize, report, and respond to dangerous weather events such as tornadoes, hailstorms, and severe thunderstorms.
Training to Become a Community Storm Spotter
The class is hosted by the Office of Emergency Management & Crisis Response in collaboration with the National Weather Service (NWS). It is ideal for those who want to become weather spotters, community volunteers who assist local agencies by tracking severe weather in real time and helping to alert the public.
Participants will learn about storm development, weather safety, and how to contribute to their community’s readiness when severe weather strikes.
