Fort Worth’s Movies That Matter series presents free screening of Picture a Scientist

Fort Worth, Texas – The City of Fort Worth’s Human Relations Commission invites the public to attend a free screening of Picture a Scientist as part of its Movies That Matter film series. The event will take place on Thursday, February 6, at 7 p.m. at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, located at 3200 Darnell St.
A Powerful Film on Women in Science
Picture a Scientist (2020, PG-13, 95 min.) sheds light on the challenges and barriers women face in STEM fields. Despite making up less than a quarter of STEM professionals in the United States, women—and particularly women of color—have been underrepresented and often marginalized in science.
The film highlights a new generation of female researchers who are fighting for a more inclusive and diverse scientific community. Through the experiences of social scientists, neuroscientists, and psychologists, the documentary explores the systemic discrimination faced by women in STEM while also showcasing efforts to create lasting change.
